GDA stands for Guidline Daily Amount and are guidelines for healthy adults and children about the approximate amount of calories, fat, saturated fat, carbohydrate, total sugars, protein, fibre, salt and sodium required for a healthy diet (based on an daily average of 2000 kcal).

The guidelines of the CIAA (Confederation of Food and Drink Industries) are based on the daily's energy average of 2000 kcal of an adult in Europe. GDAs provide guidelines and help the consumer to evaluate his daily energy and nutrient uptake.
